Services: Decommissioning, Relocation, Heavy Lifting, Engineering
KLOSE relocated multiple large 5-axis CNC machining centre for an aerospace components manufacturer, handling disconnection, heavy lifting, transport, reinstallation and precision re-levelling and alignment. The machines' mass and sensitivity required careful rigging and exact final positioning. Among the items relocated where also bending machines and stamping presses.
The project returned the machines to full manufacturing tolerance at its new location, ready to resume precision production in record time, exceeding the customers expectations.
Our KLOSE online platform and AssetTag PRO application (www.assettagpro.com) made documentation a breeze and ensured strict compliance with the stringent requirements of the customer and his end-customers audit requirements.
Services: Heavy Lifting, Rigging, Re-Levelling & Alignment, Project Management
KLOSE relocated an entire manufacturing operation of more than 250 machines into a new facility, covering decommissioning, packing, transport, reinstallation and recommissioning support. The move was phased so the customer could ramp the new site while winding down the old one.
Detailed planning, asset tracking and coordinated logistics kept the large, complex programme under control from first machine to last.
For a semiconductor equipment builder expanding its German cleanroom capacity, KLOSE delivered the complete move-in, precision positioning and mechanical/electrical hook-up of newly delivered production tools. The team received, unpacked and inspected each tool, transported it through the cleanroom airlocks, positioned it to OEM coordinates and connected utilities ready for commissioning.
We coordinated closely with the customer's facilities team and the tool manufacturer to stage deliveries, protect finished cleanroom surfaces and keep the installation on a tight ramp schedule.
When COVID-19 travel restrictions prevented a machine OEM and the customer's own specialists from flying to Malaysia, KLOSE deployed its proprietary Remote Field Team® augmented-reality solution to complete the installation on time. Our on-site technicians wore AR headsets streaming a live, annotated view to the OEM's engineers abroad, who guided each step in real time.
The approach covered mechanical assembly, alignment, electrical hook-up and guided commissioning — turning a project that would otherwise have stalled for months into an on-schedule handover.
