Cleanroom Tool Move-In and Hook-Up for a Chip Equipment Builder
Project Overview
For a semiconductor equipment builder expanding its German cleanroom capacity, KLOSE delivered the complete move-in, precision positioning and mechanical/electrical hook-up of newly delivered production tools. The team received, unpacked and inspected each tool, transported it through the cleanroom airlocks, positioned it to OEM coordinates and connected utilities ready for commissioning.
We coordinated closely with the customer's facilities team and the tool manufacturer to stage deliveries, protect finished cleanroom surfaces and keep the installation on a tight ramp schedule.
Project Challenges
- Heavy, top-sensitive tools had to be manoeuvred through tight cleanroom doorways and positioned to fractions of a millimetre without marking the freshly finished epoxy floor or compromising air classification.
- Multiple trades worked in the same restricted space simultaneously, demanding tight sequencing and continuous safety coordination.
The Klose Advantage
- Our cleanroom-rated, electric pick-and-carry equipment and air-skate systems let the team move multi-tonne tools precisely and cleanly inside the classified space. In-house mechanical and electrical technicians completed the hook-up so the customer dealt with a single accountable partner from receipt to commissioning-ready handover.
Outcome
All tools positioned to OEM tolerance and handed over for commissioning ahead of schedule, zero incidents
